RV ROAD PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT (RPA®)

From the headlights to taillights, your RV contains many isolated functions that work together to keep your RV handling as responsive, your ride as comfortable, and your passengers as safe as it should. However, normal driving and wear can create potentially dangerous RV suspension and steering problems over time. Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment provides a comprehensive RV Road Performance Assessment (RPA®). This 3-part RV assessment is designed to reveal areas that may compromise your safety, RV performance, and driving/riding comfort:

  1. RV road test – During your RV Road Performance Assessment, you ride with a certified technician as we drive over various road surfaces and driving conditions including potholes, narrow roads, and sharp turns. In this step, we analyze your RV’s steering system and your RV’s suspension system.
  2. 50-point RV inspection – A properly tuned RV suspension and steering system enables your motorhome to adapt to various conditions and improves your driving control. RV parts inspected include: tire wear, steering gear, tie rods, bushings, calipers, king pins, ball joints, disc brake rotors and pads, shock absorbers and more.
  3. RV handling report – Based on the assessment results, our skilled technician will share the results and suggest recommendations to improve your RV’s handling safety, reduce vibration, and stress to you, your passengers, and your motorhome.

Mechanic’s greasy hands repairing a car CV axle near the wheel assembly | Sunshine Service Automotive Specialists
July 10, 2014
If you have any type of single, tandem or triple axle trailer, a Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment technician can align it for you. When you drive over bumps or the occasional curb, your trailer axle can bend slightly. The trailer’s shocks and springs cannot always absorb all of the stress. When that alignment issue becomes a problem, your choices are to live with excessive tire wear, have the axle(s) replaced, or have our highly trained and experienced mechanics straighten your axles. At Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment we have a pit that is designed specifically for axle and front end work. To accomplish a trailer axle alignment, we put wheel alignment heads on each wheel, and get readings from our Hunter Alignment machine. We can print these readings and show you which wheel is out of alignment, and what we can do to correct the problem. This video explains how we correct alignment angles(camber and toe), which can be the reason for a wheel’s excessive tire wear. During the process we make small adjustments that allow for the average road crown so that each wheel and tire can track as straight as possible. This can help keep more cash in your pocket through better fuel consumption. Give us a call today and and we will help set your vehicle straight.
